Scaniverse 5.1: Fewer floaters, better splats!

Scaniverse version 5.1 brings visual improvements to Gaussian splatting, quality of life features, and bug fixes!

  • 🏙️ Better Gaussian splatting: 

    • ☁️ Sky segmentation: Less floaters in your splats! Outdoor scenes will have less noisy Gaussians from the sky in your outdoor scanning splats.

    • 🎯 Better starting position: We’ve improved splat loading positions, thumbnails, and previews, so you’re always facing the right direction when loading into a scene.

Scaniverse.com/map makes it possible to explore the Scaniverse map directly from a web browser—and so much more.

Only a limited selection of recently uploaded splats is currently available on the web as we continue testing and refining the experience.

Gaussian Splatting improvements:

  • Sky segmentation: Less floaters in your splats! Outdoor scenes will have less noisy Gaussians from the sky in your outdoor scanning splats. (iOS only)

Quality of life improvements

  • Guidance notification for long scans: Receive a heads-up when splat scans get too long (>180s) and risk processing failure.

  • "Ignore LiDAR" Toggle:  For iPhones with LiDAR sensor issues, users can toggle LiDAR data for meshing.
